The Artisan Aide Programme is designed to equip learners with practical trade and technical skills to effectively support artisans in various workplace settings. Participants gain experience in assisting with hands-on tasks, managing tools and equipment, and providing support in day-to-day operations. The programme also emphasises safety, problem-solving, and professionalism, ensuring that trainees are confident and capable of contributing to a productive and skilled working environment. By combining technical knowledge with practical application, the training prepares assistants to play a vital role in supporting qualified artisans and fostering growth within the trades sector.
Programme Structure
Phase 1
Basic Core Modules (PM)
- Classroom-based learning and theoretical foundations.
- Introductory safety workshops and essential principles.
- Establishing a strong academic and technical base.
Phase 2
Specialization Practical Modules (PM)
Note: Only 1 Field of Specialization to be selected, with selected topics per field.- Specialization Field A: Diesel Mechanic (Automotive)
- Specialization Field B: Electrical
- Specialization Field C: Fitting
- Specialization Field D: Welding
Phase 3
Advanced Practical Modules (PM)
Note: Continue per Field of Specialization from Level 2, with selected topics per field- Specialization Field A: Diesel Mechanic (Automotive)

- Specialization Field C: Fitting
- Specialization Field D: Welding
Duration:
Level 1: 5 Days / 1 Week
Level 2: 10 Days / 2 Weeks
Level 3: 10 Days / 2 Weeks
Entry Requirements:
- NQF 1 (Gr9), 40% for Mathematics 16 years of Age
