This skills programme equips learners to cover foundational topics to enter and excel in the Occupational Certificate (OC) Artisan Fields. Through comprehensive training, students will acquire the essential skills and knowledge with hands-on activities, interactive lectures sessions, and practical exposure ensuring a smooth and confident integration into the technical Occupational Certificate (OC) Artisan Programmes. The combination of theoretical and practical components will provide a strong foundation in mathematics (N2 level), physics, literacy, key technical and engineering principles.
Programme Structure
Phase 1
KYB Academy’s Technical Campus - Knowledge Modules (KM)
Integrates various components such as classroom sessions, introductory safety workshops, and foundational theoretical modules to establish a strong educational base.Phase 2
KYB Academy’s Technical Campus - Practical Modules (PM)
Emphasizes the extensive hands-on experiences, complex projects, and the integration of theoretical and practical skills within the workplace. This focuses on furthering the development of the students’ skills by mastering advanced techniques, solving real-world problems, and preparing for certification.Phase 3
KYB Academy’s Technical Campus – Final Integrated Supervised Assessment (FISA)
Assesses the hands-on practical experience through complex scenarios and integrating theoretical with practical skills. It focuses on assessing the advanced techniques and real-world problem-solving abilities to achieve certification for the skills programmes.Outcome: Graduates of the skills programmes will be equipped with essential competencies relevant to their chosen field, enhancing their employability and readiness for the workforce. They will acquire targeted technical skills, practical experience, and foundational problem-solving abilities aligned with industry standards. These shorter, focused programmes provide a structured pathway to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on expertise, enabling learners to contribute effectively to their respective industries and pursue further career opportunities within the broader occupational qualifications framework.

- Level 1 (Gr9) with 50% in Mathematics and Science, and
- 16 Years of Age, and
- RSA ID or Passport with a study permit
