TEPP – Tertiary Education Preparation Programme
The Tertiary Education Preparation Programme (TEPP) is designed to educate, develop, and inspire students, fostering both academic success and personal growth as they prepare for the challenges of tertiary education. TEPP offers a dynamic blend of quality education, innovation, inclusivity, and community engagement. Through expert-led contact sessions and support groups, students grow academically with a focus on core National Senior Certificate and Advanced Programme modules. TEPP emphasizes holistic development, leveraging technology and promoting health and wellness to prepare students to thrive with confidence in universities and other tertiary institutions.
National Senior Certificate (NSC) Modules
The National Senior Certificate (NSC) modules are structured to develop skilled learners with a deep understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical applications within real-world scenarios, preparing them for a successful tertiary educational journey. The NSC modules form the foundation and are aligned with the South African CAPS curriculum for Further Education and Training (FET) framework, following the guidelines set by the National Curriculum Statement effective January 2012.
Duration: The programme spans 11 months, depending on the National Academic Calendar. This duration includes a blend of classroom-based theoretical learning, practical hands-on training, and real-world learning applications, culminating in the National Senior Certificate Examination (NSC Exam).
Programme Structure
Semester 1:
Foundations for Success
Foundations for Success is a 21-week program aimed at strengthening students' foundational knowledge in core NSC subjects, while fostering academic discipline, digital literacy, and promoting health and wellness. It includes key topics such as time management, goal setting, and career guidance, with workshops on digital tools, project management, and NBT preparation. Courses cover subjects like Mathematics, Physical Sciences, English and Computer Studies, as well as specialized topics like Coding & Robotics, SolidWorks, and Engineering Graphics and Design. Students benefit from mentorship, peer study groups, and academic and wellness support, with internal and NBT examinations for assessment. Community engagement and personal development are also emphasized.Semester 2:
Academic Mastery & Holistic Development
A 20-week program focused on achieving mastery in core subjects, developing advanced digital and technological skills, and preparing students for the transition to tertiary education. Key objectives include improving reading proficiency to university standards, providing career guidance, and fostering personal development through workshops on leadership, public speaking, and university readiness. Courses cover subjects like Mathematics, Physical Sciences, English and Computer Studies, alongside specialized topics like Coding & Robotics, SolidWorks, and Engineering Graphics and Design. Students take NSC and SolidWorks exams, with mentorship, peer study groups, and academic and wellness support available to enhance their growth.Outcome: Graduates of the programme will be well-prepared to enter tertiary institutions as competent students in their chosen fields of study. They will possess a strong foundation in academic knowledge and problem-solving abilities, meeting the rigorous requirements of national educational standards. This structured approach ensures that students receive a comprehensive education, balancing theoretical knowledge with practical skills, thereby preparing them for a smooth transition and successful academic journey in their respective degrees.

- This module equips learners with the skills and knowledge to describe numerical, geometric, and graphical relationships, fostering logical and critical thinking. Through comprehensive training, fundamental mathematical concepts—including algebra, calculus, geometry, and trigonometry—are presented as a language that uses symbols and notations to address real-life problems from various contexts, such as social, economic, and environmental issues. Students will develop the ability to approach problem-solving methodically, generalize, and make and justify conjectures. This foundation opens pathways for further studies in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Data Analysis, Education, or related fields, equipping them with the skills needed for diverse career opportunities.

Through comprehensive training, principles of physics and chemistry will be covered in topics such as mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and chemical reactions, enabling learners to investigate and predict events in the physical environment with real-world applications. Students will develop strong investigative skills, including hypothesizing, experimenting, and problem-solving. This foundation opens pathways for further studies in Environmental Management, Engineering, Healthcare, Technology, Education, or related fields, equipping them with the skills needed for career opportunities in academic courses in higher education and applied sciences

- This module equips learners with the skills and knowledge to bridge theoretical understanding and practical application in solving technological problems through graphical drawings. Through comprehensive training in both freehand and computer-aided design (CAD) techniques, concepts such as orthographic projections, isometric drawing, and perspective drawing will be mastered to interpret and create technical drawings. Students will develop the ability to solve complex problems through visual representation and graphical communication. This foundation opens pathways for further studies in Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.), Industrial Design, Interior Design, Quantity Surveying, City Planning , or related fields, equipping them with the skills needed for numerous career opportunities, including roles as CAD operators, draughtspersons, or technicians in various industries.

NSC - Life Sciences in one line

Advance Academic Modules
The Advance Academic modules are structured to equip learners with reinforced knowledge of practical real-world scenario applications deepening their understanding of theoretical concepts, preparing them for Tertiary and Global competencies for lifelong learning. The Advance Academic modules form the foundation and are are aligned with the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) framework for further education and training framework, following the guidelines set by the IEB curriculum.
Duration: The programme spans 11 months, depending on the National Academic Calendar. This duration includes a variety of teaching modes – traditional face-to-face, distance education including online learning and hybrid or blended learning, culminating in the IEB-International Secondary Certificate Examination (IEB-ISC Exam).

Gateway to Higher Learning
A 21-week program introducing Further Studies (FS) modules focused on higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and knowledge application. It fosters academic discipline, study techniques, and digital literacy, while also promoting resilience and coping strategies for university life. The curriculum includes Further Studies Mathematics, Further Studies Science, and the KYB Advanced Reading Programme, with internal and IEB examinations. Support structures include mentorship, peer study groups, and academic and wellness support, providing tutoring, mental health counselling, and academic advisory services for personal and academic growth.Semester 2:
Preparing for Tertiary Excellence
A 20-week program designed to deepen knowledge in Advanced Programme modules and enhance advanced digital and technological skills. The focus is on improving reading proficiency to university standards. Courses include Further Studies Mathematics, Further Studies Science, and the KYB Advanced Reading Programme, with students sitting for IEB examinations. Support structures such as mentorship, peer study groups, and academic and wellness support provide academic advice, emotional support, tutoring, and mental health counseling to ensure students' overall development and success.Outcome: Graduates of the programme will be well-prepared to enter tertiary institutions both local and internationally as competent students in their chosen fields of study. They will possess a strong foundation in academic knowledge and problem-solving abilities, meeting the rigorous requirements of further education and training. This structured approach ensures recognition is given to students’ experiences in these areas which include digital literacy, active citizenry, career exploration, work readiness.
FS – Further Studies Mathematics

Students will develop problem-solving and analytical skills that are crucial for understanding quantitative data and reasoning logically. This solid Mathematical foundation opens the road to advanced studies in fields such as Engineering, Economics, Data Science, and Actuarial Science, preparing students for a wide range of professional opportunities in academia, technology, and finance.

- This module provides learners with the scientific knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to understand and explore various advanced scientific disciplines at university. Covering topics such as physics, chemistry, and earth sciences, the programme offers a balanced approach to both theoretical and experimental science. Students will engage in practical applications of the scientific method and use their newly found abilities to assess data and form well-supported conclusions. A part of this module focusses on laboratory ethics and the correct use of laboratory equipment for various experiments and projects.
