KYB Academy’s Technical Preparation Bridging Programme provides learners with the essential foundation to enter and excel in Occupational Certificate (OC) Artisan fields. Through a combination of interactive lecture sessions, and practical exposure, students gain the core skills and confidence needed for seamless integration into technical OC Artisan programmes. Training covers key subjects such as mathematics (N2 level), physics, literacy, and fundamental technical and engineering principles, ensuring a solid balance of theoretical understanding for practical application.
Programme Structure
Phase 1
Knowledge Modules (KM)
- Classroom-based learning and theoretical foundations.
- Introductory safety workshops and essential principles.
- Establishing a strong academic and technical base.
Phase 2
Practical Modules (PM)
- Hands-on training and workplace-simulated projects
- Integration of theory with advanced practical techniques
- Skill development focused on real-world application and certification.
Phase 3
Final Integrated Supervised Assessment (FISA)
- Evaluation of practical competence through complex scenarios.
- Assessment of theory-to-practice integration.
- Certification readiness for skills programmes.
Outcome: Graduates of the skills programmes will be equipped with essential competencies relevant to their chosen field, enhancing their employability and readiness for the workforce. They will acquire targeted technical skills, practical experience, and foundational problem-solving abilities aligned with industry standards. These shorter, focused programmes provide a structured pathway to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on expertise, enabling learners to contribute effectively to their respective industries and pursue further career opportunities within the broader occupational qualifications framework.

- NQF 1 (Gr9), 50% for Mathematics & Science, subject to an assessment by KYB Academy
- NQF 2(Gr10), 40% for Mathematics/ Mathematics Literacy/Technical Mathematics
