Skills Programmes - Electrical & Plumbing

This training provides essential skills in various plumbing systems. Learners are introduced to safety standards, hand tools, piping systems, pipework & fittings, and geyser installations. Practical experience in soldering, compression and fixture fittings is included. The course prepares participants for entry-level roles such as a plumbing assistant residential and commercial environments. Lunch is included on Training Days.

Programme Structure

Phase 1

Plumbing Module 1: Plumbing Safety & Sanitary Plumbing

Duration: 2 Days
Focus: Plumbing fundamentals

  • Sanitary plumbing systems
  • Hand tools & measuring equipment
  • Plumbing materials overview
Integrates various components such as classroom sessions, introductory safety workshops, and foundational theoretical modules to establish a strong educational base. As students progress, they engage in advanced practical workshops, collaborative group projects, and individual assignments designed to enhance their expertise and deepen their understanding. The initial months focuses on core trade principles, basic concepts, and essential safety practices, whereafter students advance to developing in-depth technical skills, mastering problem-solving strategies, and applying theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios.

Plumbing Module 2: Pipework & Fittings

Duration: 4 Days
Focus: Pipe installation skills

  • Copper pipes
  • Soldering techniques
  • Compression fittings
  • Galvanised steel piping

Plumbing Module 3: Domestic Plumbing Applications

Duration: 4 Days
Focus: Applied plumbing competence

Competencies Covered:

  • Practical pipework tasks
  • Installation standards & checks
