QCTO Occupational Certificate Artisan Programmes
These programmes combine knowledge, practical modules and workplace-integrated learning. Depending on the trade, an Occupational Certificate programme can run through multiple training phases before the final external assessment required for qualification as an artisan.
Technical Skills Training Programmes

QCTO Occupational Certificates

Coded Welder: The Coded Welder programme develops advanced practical welding capability. Training includes SMAW/MMA, GMAW/MIG/MAG and GTAW/TIG processes. Safety and production of code-compliant welds are key components.
Non-NQF Skills Programmes
- Technical Preparation Bridging Programme: The Technical Preparation Bridging Programme prepares learners for technical Occupational Certificate studies. Mathematics, physics, literacy and engineering principles are covered. It strengthens the foundation needed for artisan training.
- Artisan Aide Programme: The Artisan Aide Programme develops practical skills for supporting qualified artisans. Students work with tools, equipment and trade-specific tasks. Safety, professionalism and problem-solving are also developed.
- Wheel Alignment, Balancing & Fitment: The Wheel Alignment, Balancing & Fitment programme covers tyres, wheel balancing and alignment. Brake and shock absorber fitment are included. Workshop safety and equipment handling support practical automotive skills.
- SolidWorks & CNC Milling and Lathe Operator: The SolidWorks and CNC programme combines technical drawing with machine operation. Students work with SolidWorks, CNC setup and G-Code programming. Training supports entry-level CAD and CNC-related roles.
